Misinformation Leads To Bad Policy

Even though BP had a blowout preventer in place.  Even though BP had
a spill containment plan approved by MMS.  Even though MMS was
corrupt in enforcement...

In last night's speech, Obama blames the "failed philosophy that views
all regulation with hostility", a philosophy that says that corporations
should be allowed to play by their own rules and police themselves."

BP were being policed by MMS, not themselves.  But MMS didn't do
their jobs.  All the regulations necessary to have prevented and
contained this spill are already in place, but BP cut corners and
MMS allowed them to do it.

Obama is a liar for his own political purposes (just like when he said
he wouldn't sign a health care bill that added to the deficit).

Environmentalists have pushed oil off of vast land reserves, and
pushed offshore drilling into deep waters.  Obama, however,
blames the vague and always evil "corporation". 

Obama is the ultimate finger pointer, blaming everyone else. 
The Democrats have had a majority in the House and Senate for
3 and 1/2 years.  Obama appointed Salazar. Salazar appointed
Birnbaum.  According to Obama himself, they were appointed to
"clean up" MMS, which means HE AND EVERYBODY ELSE KNEW
MMS was corrupt.  But nothing was done in a year and a half.

Remember Rahm Emmanuel's philosophy “You never want a
serious crisis to go to waste.”?  Obama spent last night
preparing the country for a disaster...of his own making. 

Here comes the thoroughly discredited cap and trade. 
Here comes the death of nuclear energy (our only true
path to energy independence).  Here comes the death
of clean coal.  Here comes more restricted drilling both
on land and offshore.

Here comes even more dependence on Mid East and
Venezuelan oil and higher prices.
